Not often is it the case that actors like Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert De Niro get together to tell the story of a powerful female entrepreneur. This past Christmas holiday, however, that is exactly what they did. Joy tells the story of real-life entrepreneur, Joy Mangano. She is responsible for the invention of common household products that make each of our lives easier every day. Those skinny velvet hangers you have in your closet? Yep, that was her idea.Although she is wildly successful today, this was not always the case. She faced years of struggle and hardship leading up to her big break. This movie will make you want to go and do that thing you never had the courage to do before. We here at DMJ respected Joy's resiliency because we know that running a business is not an overnight success. It takes hard work and dedication no matter the circumstance. Here are a few of our favorite looks from the movie:
Our favorite clean and cool #girlboss lookCostume designer Michael Wilkinson shares the back story"I designed this suit and had it made in New York for Jennifer in ivory wool crepe. We looked at vintage Yves St.Laurent and Escada for inspiration. This outfit defines the successful phase of Joy."xo
Where has the year gone? It's already November, and it's getting chilly here in SF (Yes, even in SF. I miss 85 degree September weather!)We spent much of the year experimenting with many different styles of earrings from dainty pearls to bold statement pieces. Among those, one of our top sellers was ... Kylie Ear Jackets!
You might have spotted this look already both on and off the red carpet.
We love ear jacket earrings because they are fun and versatile. And, of course, we especially love, pearl ear jackets for their more feminine and sophisticated vibes!Kylie Ear Jackets are handmade of freshwater pearls, crystals and sterling silver.
For the 2015 Met Gala, Anna Wintour decided to go to the East.
The theme of “China: Through The Looking Glass” gives gala attendees endless options
in what to wear to the event.

We would love to see her in this white gown with black detail.
As one of Karl Lagerfeld’s muses we expect to see the british model in Chanel.
This gown would fit perfect into the theme of this years Gala. The new mom would look stunning in this black BALMAIN gown. This blue Valentino gown would give SJP another amazing
Met Gala moment to add to her long list.We will have to wait until May 4 to see if our predictions are correct!

This black & white gown she wore for the 2014 gala is now even more iconic with
the passing of the great Oscar Del Renta.

The British model truly looked like a princess with this blush Burberry gown.
The ruffles give the gown the perfect feminine touch.
3. Beyonce in Givenchy
This is a dress that only Queen B could pull off.
It is a dark and edgy dress that was perfect for the theme of Punk.

Whenever Jennifer Lawrence wears Dior she tends to turn heads and this was no exception.
We absolutely love this tea length dress that definitely stood out among all the floor length gowns.

We are big fans of any dress with a cape accent!( ex Gwyneth Paltrow at the Golden Globes)
