  • How to Throw the Perfect Holiday Party

0 comments / Posted by Samantha Lee

With the holiday season in full swing, there's nothing we love more than thanking our guests with a fun and festive holiday party.  This past weekend, we held a holiday pop up shop in San Francisco. Guests got the chance to shop DearMissJ as well as mingle with other fellow DearMissJ fans.

Tip #1: Interact with your guests.  At parties where not everyone knows each other, make it a point to plan out possible conversation starters between guests who have similar interests.  They will make a new friend that night, and you can feel good that everyone is having a great time!

Tip #2: Keep the bites and bubbly fully stocked throughout the night!  No one wants to be hungry or thirsty at a holiday party.  Make sure you have more than enough to go around once and twice again!  If you have extra, that's just more to enjoy the next day!

Tip #3: It's all in the details.  Guests will remember their favorite song playing in the background or the cute plate sitting on the table that reminds them of the morning birds from home.  Experiment with the details when you're decorating, and you'll be surprised what guests will appreciate and remember!

Good luck party planning!  Don't forget the holidays are a time to spend time with the ones you love, so don't get stressed out over your next holiday party!
It's the perfect time to grab gifts for all the gals on your gift list!

  • Weekend Travel Tips for the Holidays

0 comments / Posted by Samantha Lee

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and for many of us, this means traveling back home for the holiday!  For others, this means taking a well-deserved vacation.  Since the Thanksgiving holiday usually only allows for a weekend getaway, we decided to name our "go-to" travel necessities we always have ready to pack.

    One: Layering basics.
Most of the time you can get an idea of what the weather will be like in the city you are traveling to, but often times, weather can be unpredictable!  This is why we love stocking up on basic pieces in neutral colors that are easy to layer to keep you looking fresh and feeling comfortable for the whole weekend.  We love turtlenecks this season!

Two: A versatile watch and bracelets
A timeless watch will last you for years, even decades, if you treat it right.  Watches add sophistication to any outfit while also providing a very functional purpose at the same time -- it doesn't get any better than that!  Layer your wrist with your watch and fun bracelets that will complement the watch without drowning it out in excessive accessories.

    Three: A chic carryall tote.

There are many versions of the classic carryall tote, but we like a simple design with minimal hardware.  This way, you can take it out from morning until night and never have to worry about changing bags to match your outfit.  It also works as the perfect carry-on on the plane!

    Bon voyage!
